Qualification Criteria

Qualification Criteria

To apply for a scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a graduate of or currently enrolled in Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy's "Sisters in Sisterhood" or "I Am My Brother" Rites of Passage Program

  • Have an IDA account in good standing

  • Be accepted and enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year college or university or approved vocational/technical school. Scholarships are not available for students earning a second undergraduate degree.

  • Provide copy of transcript and written acknowledgement of enrollment

  • Have a 2.5 GPA. Entering freshman should have an equivalent high school GPA

  • Scholarships are not available for students earning a second undergraduate degree.

  • Write an essay on the "essay topic" below and email to info@ifetayo.org together with other required information, by July 9, 2010 - the subject line must read "Personal Essay"

ESSAY TOPIC

In approximately 500 words (typewritten) please tell us about your history and family life, your values and dreams for yourself personally and professionally, your strengths and accomplishments, personal characteristics you would like to change or improve in order to achieve your goals, how you plan to use your education to achieve your life goals and be of service to your community.
