...........................................................................................

Ifetayo is a cultural community based organization dedicated to the upliftment and development of our community. We rely on the members of our community to aid us in supporting our youth and their families. We are continuously looking for dedicated individuals, who are willing to join our internship, mentor or volunteer programs. Let this be a learning and purposeful experience for both you and the Ifetayo community. You can also visit our Wish List to help us fulfill a child's or Ifetayo's wishes.

Volunteer Program
There are many volunteer opportunities at Ifetayo and we gladly welcome your help and service. Your help is always needed. Help us with our special events, coordinate receptions, organize mailings, tutor a student, mentor a student, and organize a special workshop.

Internship Program
If you are a high school or college student with an interest in learning more about the arts, nonprofits, community development, working with youth and families, or cultivating administrative skills, this program is for you. We provide stipends for students who can commit to a minimum of 20 hours a week. Interns work directly with Ifetayo staff. We offer internships in:

  • Fundraising and Development

  • Social Marketing

  • Press and Public Relations

  • Administration

  • Cultural Programming

  • Production

  • Tutoring in Math, English, Science for all grade levels

  • Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts, Music, and Creative writing student teaching

Mentor Program
If you are interested in our Rites of Passage programs, the Sisters in Sisterhood and I am My Brother program, we need mentors and positive role models for our young boys and girls ages 8-19. Donate a hour or two a week by leading a workshop, helping tutor a student, reading a book to a child or having a child shadow you at your job. Every minute counts. If you can commit to once or twice a week become a part our mentor program. This is a chance of a lifetime for many of our youth to make meaningful connections that can last a lifetime!
