the Spirit of Dance Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy invites you
to attend a series
of FREE ADULT WEST AFRICAN DANCE CLASSES!
Rejuvenate and Get in Shape to the Sounds of the African Drum. All Adults are
welcomed! Classes are currently being taught by Ifetayo’s Artistic Director
for the Cultural Arts Program (CAP), Rajonna Lewis.
Please note: Classes will not be held on December 24 and
December 31 in observance of the holiday season.
About
Rajonna Lewis:
Rajonna Lewis is the Artistic Director of Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy
and has been a faculty member at Ifetayo since 1984.
As a dancer, visual
artist,
costume designer and martial artists, she has performed, studied and instructed
in Oakland, CA, New York, NY, and abroad (Jamaica, West Africa, etc.)
From
1982-84 she performed with Dimensions Dance Co. and Ballet Saba West African
Dance Co. in Oakland, CA and from 1988-91 she danced with Karaba West African
Dance Co. in Brooklyn, NY.
Classes will be taught by Rajonna Lewis through Saturday, December 17,
2011.
